About Us

Arriba Sahuarita Performing Arts aims to serve our community by offering Mexican-American enrichment programs like mariachi music and folklorico dance to the youth in the town of Sahuarita.

Welcome to Arriba Sahuarita Performing Arts. We are so excited to welcome you to our team. Arriba Sahuarita began after seeing the success in Sahuarita Guitar and Violin Lessons. There was definitely a need, and this business needed to start. As a child, Ashley lived in Sahuarita but attended school and extracurricular activities in Tucson because there were no other culturally relevant performing art programs in Sahuarita. We started this program to give Sahuarita students this opportunity!

Violin Teacher

Marcela Salinas

Professional violinist with 16 years of experience.
Participated in local groups Davis Aguilitas, Roskruge Pumas, Milagro, Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo High School, Mariachi Tesoro, Mariachi Sonido, and currently is a violinist for Mariachi Nuevo Azteca de Tucson.
3 years of experience working with children in a school setting and through in-home services.
Certified in First-Aid, CPR and holds a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Trumpet Teacher

Sabrina Garcia

Professional Trumpeter with 13 years of experience.
Participated in local groups Los Changuitos Feos, Mariachi Rayos del Sol from Tucson High School, and Mariachi Estrellas.
3 years of experience working with children
Certified in First-Aid, CPR and holds a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Sarina Grijalva

Professional folklorico dancer with 15 years of experience.
Participated in local groups such as Folklorico Los Tucsonenses and Compania De Danza Folklorica Arizona (CDFA).
5 years of experience working with children in an afterschool setting.
Holds a bachelors degree in Engineering and is certified in First-Aid, CPR and holds a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Professional mariachi guitarist with 21 years of experience. Folklorico, jazz and hip- hop dancer.
Participated in local groups VIVA Arizona, Los Changuitos Feos, Mariachi Aztlan de Pueblo High School and currently is a guitarist for Mariachi Nuevo Azteca de Tucson. Danced at Tucson High, The Drop Dance Studio.
8 years of experience working with children in a school setting and through in-home services.
